I've had my head down working on things for my MFA and other side projects that have kept me well overly committed.
Developed a top secret ride for A Walt Disney Imagineering class, made several new commercials for PopTent, worked on several shorts and feature concepts that are in development and am now working on an interactive video Projection Mapping piece for an international art exhibition called Elevate.
We just won editors choice for this crazy little Vizio commercial, called The Revolution.
I just edited/did motion graphics for this video for Atlantic Records and for some reason right now it's only available in the US and UK so says the Muse website. Tons of kids around the world has chucked it onto YouTube so that others around the world can see it too. Bellow is a mirrored one, but hopefully Muse will chuck an HD version on their website for everyone around the world to see. I still don't know why record execs think rolling distribution works. Especially with a band that already has a pretty big worldwide name. Whatever, my mom doesn't know who they are. yet. haha. enjoy!
Have some other cool stuff in the line. Doing some compositing and titles work for a feature film called 'L.A., I Hate You.' It's going to be freakn' awesome so check out it's IMDB page.
Other then that, I met/interviewed this band called 'RATT' in Ventura, California. They are a rad metal band bringing about a comeback and touring with the Scorpions this summer. Did the interview for a friend at RoadRunner Records, guess it's for a Japanese show. Been hanging around the beach, working to finish up some top secret projects, one that was shot in Australia and I think you are all going to love. Stay tuned! Later!
Before I loose this link in the interweb again I wanted to share it with all of you. It is amazing for keying out less than desirable resolution green screen footage. I used it some some of the SD stuff that you see on the Hellboy 2 DVD featurettes as well as some other promotional material around the world.
Blink is getting back together and tonight while I was listening to them on the Kevin and Bean show from KROQ I threw this little thing together. I'm such a fanboy. \\Also, uploaded a quick tutorial for using volumetric lights in Cinema 4D (like the one in this blink logo pic) to my flickr account so check it out!
I know not everyone who read this blog is into After Effects, but I really haven't posted anything interesting about After Effects on this blog yet, so I figured since I have spent so much of my life in that application I should give you guys something.
To put me to sleep tonight I was skimming this article about Apple's Motion compared to AE and one of the reasons it gives for After Effects users liking Motion is the simple Motion to FCP and back integration. Yes that integration is amazing but sometimes you still need the complexities that After Effects has to offer, so you want to throw your FCP timeline into AE to add some really crazy effects or whatever. Instead of using the over priced Automatic Duck method you can use a simple script that is found at AEscripts.com. Throw this into your scripts folder, load up your footage into AE, run the script and it will detect all of your cuts, making new layers for each of them. It's pretty handy when you're working with a large amount of visual effects shots in a row, or if you want to do motion graphics over the top and in between a lengthy pre edited sequence. This script is humorously named Magnum - Edit Detector.
AEscripts.com also has a script for the all amazing background render, that allows you to keep working as your rendering! It's great, you should get it if your doing allot of animating and need to keep working while rendering test movies and finished projects in the background.
